NāNo Gallery presents ‘Brain Dump’ by Ali Einoder.
Alexander (Ali) Einoder is a Tasmanian multidisciplinary artist, designer and researcher based in Abbotsford.
This month, NāNo Gallery features a collection of small drawings from Ali’s notebooks, one larger painting and a meticulously adorned guitar. The painting has been repeatedly deformed and repainted to add texture, while the guitar features layers of paint marker and varnish, filled with disconnected doodles. Ali has used simple, bold colours and abstract forms to stimulate the viewer's imagination. And while Ali claims that the imagery is mostly juvenile, absurd, and unfiltered doodles made while thinking about other things, we get an interesting insight into the process and delightful workings of this artist’s playful mind.
