Contemplation, Inheritance and Play, an exhibition by Aldous Plascencia, opens Saturday 10 February @tandccs, 5.30 - 8pm. Aldous Plascencia is a Mexican-born Australian mixed media artist whose bi-cultural upbringing introduced him to mystic European mythology and Mexican folklore, both of which continue to inspire his painting practice. Using bright colours and rich textures, he draws on ideas from surrealism, magic, alchemy, astrology and psychology. Plascencia's upcoming exhibition @tandccs was created during a contemplative period of his life and is an exploration of personal beliefs, cultural heritage and memory.
