Gallery 9 is delighted to present Eloise Kirk's 'Dream river', on view at the gallery from 14 June to 8 July. We welcome you to join us for the opening reception from 6 - 8pm next Wednesday 14 June. My work is inspired by uncanny natural forms created over millennia. I am drawn to unexplained rock formations which provoke thoughts of the otherworldly, spiritual oddities and the unnerving. With an instinctive focus on landscape, elemental material, geology, and the environment, I am interested in the slow decay and environmental transformation throughout time. As well as taking a critical eye to environmental issues and the over consumption of natural resources, my practice embraces a sense of optimism and the playful reforming and reclaiming of that which is unsuccessful, cast aside or decayed.
