Opening and Artist Talk Friday 29 November 6-9 pm.
The representation of humans in art has continuously evolved, reflecting shifting beliefs about identity, spirituality, and existence. From the idealised figures of ancient Greece to the symbolic forms of the Middle Ages, the human figure has long been a vessel for exploring the world and ourselves. With the advent of modern and contemporary movements, these representations fractured, embracing surrealism, abstraction, and subjectivity, transforming humans into beings, characters, and dreamlike creatures.
This exhibition brings together nine artists whose works navigate these evolving boundaries. Through painting and sculpture, they explore the surreal, the symbolic, and the deeply personal, inviting us to reflect on humanity as something fluid and undefinable.
Humans, Beings, and Things in Between is an invitation to experience the shifting spectrum of human representation.
