Light is an omnipotent force within art both as subject and medium. Painters throughout history have explored and utilised tone to great effect, evolutions of art into video and photography all rely on the technology of optics. As a subject light has been a reoccurring motif used to invoke spirituality, chaos, and the beauty of the natural world.
Light Alchemy hones in on light's connection to spirituality and enlightenment. The exhibition is a collection of contemporary interpretations and personal experiences of spirituality. Through a variety of mediums including optical illusions, virtual realities, and motion capture in play with the effervescent formal qualities of light.
