For her third solo show, Louise Olsen sets her attention on the passing of time, and the accumulation of experiences that come to define our lives. In her abstract paintings, Olsen explores texture and movement, and the sensation of her colourful media. “When we listen to music, it’s not only about what we hear, but how we feel the sounds,” she says. Tim Olsen, director of Olsen Gallery adds, “Her work exposes not only a true talent, but also an intrinsic dexterity for drawing and painting that goes hand in hand. She possesses an incredible sensibility for colour and tone and an understanding of space.” For Louise, space is comprised equally of fullness and emptiness, a careful dynamic that she commits to linen.
