HAIR is excited to announce our April exhibition ππ€ππ‘ππ₯ πΌππ€π§π with ππ« πππ§π’ππ₯ π πππ«π€π¬/πππ. Opening on Thursday, 25 April from 6β8pm with a live performance.
ππ€ππ‘ππ₯ πΌππ€π§π presents a site-specific extraction of material from DRMβs recent PhD performance-exhibition πππππ (presented at Temperance Hall in 2023) and their ongoing video-choreography project πππππΏππππ (2022-2024).
Central to the exhibition is DRMβs repeated performance action of the βsniffer dogβ, and a focus on systemised modes of perspective which they position as βdigital visualityβ. ππ€ππ‘ππ₯ πΌππ€π§π iterates these propositions, which find queer-erotic dynamics within logics of surveillance, into a static exhibition context in close parallel to the exterior street (or the public βagoraβ). A live excerpt of the choreography of πππππ, performed at the exhibitionβs opening night, re-performs the βsniffer dogβ and creates a situation of leakage across the threshold of the gallery and public space, and of action and imaging.
The exhibition and performance are scored by a semi-generative composition made from audio documentation of the βsniffer dogβ in rehearsal, and by ASCII code artworks generated from rehearsal/documentary footage.
