On Frank is Jeremy Eaton's second solo exhibition with LON Gallery, running 1 May – 25 May.
You are cordially invited to the opening celebration, 4:00 - 6:00pm, Saturday 4th May.
The exhibition emerges from an extended research project into Australian artist James Gleeson, and meditates on the presence and absence of Frank O'Keefe, Gleeson's lifelong partner in image and sound. The new print-based works chart material and affective encounters with Frank in Gleeson’s work, narrative and archive. Here, as reflected in Eaton's exhibition, Frank appears as a spectral presence, muse and icon, as a central figure yet dispersed subject. By poetically charting encounters with Frank, Eaton considers broader notions of privacy, exposure and omission that pervade Australian queer art history.
