We are delighted to present Marco Franco for the first time on Australian shores. “Marco Franco’s new presentation Pares unpacks his rigorous practice and interest in expanding fields of sound, sculpture and drawing with key elements of pairing rhythmic virtuosity combined with explorations into materiality and form. Franco’s practice is an endless pursuit in search of the imperfect rhythm.” Recently shortlisted for the prestigious Luso Americano Foundation Drawing Award for 2023, Franco is a well regarded Portuguese jazz drummer, composer and visual artist who has performed at Culturegest, Lisbon (2021), solo presentations at Bruno Múrias, Lisbon (2020, 2023) and Goethe Institut, Lisbon (2019). Franco lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal.
