"The Microdot" is an extension of Artist as explorer to investigate the Tasmanian natural landscape through the lens of an Australia Chinese Vietnamese ‘explorer’. The explorer character that Dacchi has embodied aims to challenge the narrowed and skewed view of the western colonial explorer and to instead celebrate the diversity and multicultural country that is Australia.
'My culture exploration investigates and reflected into the contemporary society. This exploration to exploring the micro and macro layers of cultural landscape in our society. At the macro layer, everyday thousand/millions of people are travelling their homeland to the foreigner land either for work, migration and leisure. Many of their first-hand experiences have been present or collect either by the host or individual of the images; lovely, fun, friendly exciting or enjoyable culture; for some even tried to pre vision of the land and culture which have not been contact. As the result, it often disappoints of the pre- images have not matched from their imagination land. The Microdot series, I am presenting to the viewer a grant virgin land and culture landscape. This has many elements of simple, icon focus to central investigation through photography. This is a challenge to the viewers to my landscape. Within these grant landscape, I have imbedded of micro landscape of beauty and poetic visual language to the viewer which it is waiting to be discover/explore.'
