Threads That Bind Us.' Threads That Bind Us explores how seven distinctive artists mutually weave together stories of identity through collecting, inheriting, re-purposing, re-claiming and re-encountering. The show salutes the elusive relationship between humans and materials, acknowledging how pieces of found textile, plastic waste, gifted clothing or mere bed linen may hold the secrets to the richness of new possibilities. A combination of textiles, waste, photography, and installation engage in conversation with one another, to share our craft and commitment of sharing stories through a piece of thread. These practices foster a sense of intimacy, encountering the artist's ideas of community, feminism, queerness and how we wrap up our identities in all of it.
