Niagara Galleries is delighted to present Euan Macleod’s latest exhibition of recent paintings. 15/7/24, the title of both a key work in the exhibition, and the exhibition as a whole, marks the date on which Macleod’s mother died. The title reflects the importance of this new series of paintings and acknowledges a figure that has appeared in many previous works, who shared a love of the New Zealand landscape with her son.
Shown concurrently with the Orange Regional Gallery and ANU Drill Hall Gallery partnership exhibition Flux, Macleod’s latest exhibition at Niagara Galleries features “... Macleod’s signature energy, his relentless observation, his paint cajoled into a turmoil of restless surface. They offer us visual pathways – imaginative explorations where we might pause to consider the intertwining of fragility and permanence.”
