mimicry of the earnest ritual of Hong Kong street shrines and alters, where business owners and people ask for better fortune, the exhibition is in fact a prayer for sweeter lives.
π Picture ingots on Ferrero Rocher bases, hand-painted joss paper of candy wrapping, Lindt-bunny incense burners, dessert cups filled with incense ash.
πUtilizing appropriated iconic confectionery brands, the exhibition aims to demystify commodity fetishism; re-establishing viewer connection with the hands that make these goods.
