Folklórico is a series of paintings inspired by the culture of Gustavo Rimada’s homeland, Mexico. Opening reception: Saturday July 20th, 6 - 9pm. Through vivid colors, symbolic artifacts, folklore, flowers, and thematic elements, Folklorico becomes Gustavo Rimada’s homage to his homeland and a testament to his pride. From Mexico to California and now to Australia, Rimada is forever grateful and honoured to have the opportunity to share his love and passion with the world. Gustavo Rimada, a Mexican-born artist based in California, is known for his unique style that blends bold colour palettes, stylized subjects, and a mix of Mexican visuals, art history, and contemporary tattoo culture. His paintings serve as a bridge between his ancestral heritage and his current life in the United States, creating a dynamic fusion of two cultures.
