Spatial Play presents artworks that evoke an abstract spatial environment for contemplation. The wall becomes the environment for each artists' trajectory. Patrick Lundberg's work is inconspicuous, sequentially arranged within the spatial constraints to enhance its architectural context with playful undertones. Tomislav Nikolic's paintings reverberate with colour, existing beyond the canvas edge to absorb the sculptural possibilities of the frame. Similarly, Oliver Perkins challenges the dimensional presence of paint on canvas and reconsiders the spatial limits of a wall painting.
Through seen and unseen materials, the works of Patrick Lundberg, Tomislav Nikolic, and Oliver Perkins exist within the cross-field between art and architecture; between the real and illusory, the positive and negative.
