Void_Melbourne is delighted to announce the gallery's second presentation at Sydney Contemporary this September with Sydney-based artists Suzie Idiens and Oliver Wagner.
Suzie’s practice is known for her geometric wall sculptures characterised by highly reflective surfaces. Using industrial materials and a meticulous process to remove any evidence of her own hand in the creation of her pieces, they become objects in their own right, mirroring their surroundings and making the observer integral to the work. For Wagner, he experiments with labour, speculation, and volatility to explore notions of chance, skill, and care. Drawing from the history of painting, he employs house paint rendered into dust as his primary medium for both permanent and ephemeral works.
