Phoebe Stone created works whilst musing on the idea of a ‘feast’. What shapes they take, what emotions they evoke. The word ‘Feast’ can make us automatically think of a table draped in linen, laden with food and drinks, beautiful serving wear, glowing candles… but there are also those times when a simple slice of bread with some butter feels like an absolute feast. A fresh crisp apple picked straight from the tree!! We often speak of visual feats, feasts for the senses - those moments when your eye catches a beautiful arrangement of flowers and it takes your breath away, or to look out and see the beauty of the ocean and to feel nourished. Conversations with family and friends, often over a meal, at a table; feasts for the mind. These works explore feasts in all their forms and in all the ways they can sustain both mind and body.
