As part of the external event program for Sydney Contemporary, Art Leven [formerly Cooee Art] announces their exhibition ‘WHO x WHO’ from 6-28 September to run concurrently in their Redfern gallery in collaboration with their neighbours, ANIBOU. designer furniture and interior designers Strutt Studios.
WHO x WHO is a group exhibition of First Nations artists curated by Art Leven including Emily Kam Kngwarray (Kame Kngwarreye), Dorothy Napangardi, Mirdidingkingathi Juwarnda Sally Gabori, Dr Christian Thompson, Blak Douglas, Djirrirra Wunungmurra, Lydia Balbal, Sally Scales, Patju Presley and Danie Mellor.
In a convergence of art, design and living, the Art Leven gallery will be transformed into seven spaces, with each of the ten artworks paired insitu with furniture pieces by designers Paola Navone, Eileen Gray, Alvar Aalto, Marcel Breuer and Fritz Haller selected from ANIBOU. by the interior design team at Strutt Studios.
The ANIBOU. showrooms in Sydney and Melbourne present timeless craftsmanship for the home, office or commercial project including Artek, ClassiCon, Gervasoni 1882, Isokon+, Röthlisberger, THONET GmbH, USM Modular Furniture and Woodnotes. Strutt Studios is a dynamic Sydney-based interior architecture and design firm with a deep level of resourcefulness, creativity and understanding.
The WHO x WHO group exhibition will open at the Art Leven gallery for the Sydney Contemporary external event program on Friday 6 September, 4-6pm at 17 Thurlow Street, Redfern, Gadigal.
